I am beginning to think there is something totally out of whack in the universe. Too many people are suffering this night, from serious, albeit not immediately life-threatening ills.

And too many people are being just plain mean, which means too many people are having to spend time stubbornly resisting the impulse to be mean themselves, in retaliation.

There is too much fear in the world. Some of it has been brought up by the ills and the meanness.

It's a lot to think about.
