A New Tool - May 29

I knew I was a little depressed today. I got thinking about the fact that I was also depressed last year around this time. And that made me archive-surf and realize the same thing had been true in 2004.

So maybe there's something about the end of May that is a trigger for me, independent of anything that's going on in the specific year.

It's possible the trigger has to do with the nearing of my late father's birthday. It's possible that the trigger has to do with something else entirely.

At any rate, it's good to realize the pattern.

That realization is an excellent tool.

Sight and Sound - May 28

This game is way too addictive. And as with many games, the better you get at it, the longer you can play. After all, you're not losing!

Today's earworm (song stuck in one's head) is a hymn. No, not one of the old familiar ones. This one is from about forty years ago, and I first heard it in 1978. I hadn't thought about it in a long time, then saw a message board post in which someone noted it as a favorite hymn.

So that would be why in my spare time today I've played Color Box, accompanied by Earth and All Stars.

Updated - May 27

I've been doing a little updating to website things. There's a new "About" page for this site, in case you want to know some of my backstory.

I've also updated the Rebeccaworks links page. Among other things there, I'd like to call your attention to My Insurance Professional, if you're in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or the District of Columbia (other locations coming soon). Its owner is a friend of mine, and I'm sure he'll do a good job for you.

And as always, I'd appreciate it if you'd consider me for your freelance needs. Like it says in the sidebar:

What I can do for you:
Business Services
featuring website backups
featuring Repairs to Heirlooms
and Custom Crochet

Gift Certificates!

What you can do for me:
Hire me
Donations and other help
are always welcome
