I don't always open spam, but sometimes I'm not sure it is spam. This was the case this weekend, when I got several messages with subject lines that could have been legitimate. And of course, after I opened the first one, being intrigued with it made me look at the others (same subject) as they came.

As it happens, spam was the content. Filled with incredible spelling errors, the messages announce they are from women who will be in my neighborhood soon and are hoping to come visit. Since I have not replied, I think I won't clean the living room just yet.

But I realized at some point that if they all show up, I could have the beginnings of an escort service.

I've been spending a lot of this weekend watching television and sleeping. I'm about caught up on both. And yes, the first does often lead to the second. I've also done some crocheting and some pondering. If the crochet pattern isn't particularly complicated, those two work well together.

Today, I'm easing slowly into the day, realizing that I meant to update yesterday and got sidetracked. I did take a moment at 3:00 p.m. to remain silent and think of those whose lives have been lost in service to the country.

I am also thinking of some people I know whose losses have nothing to do with war. And last but not least, I'm sending good thoughts to several people whose lives are disrupted by illness. May peace be with all.
