You, all of you, honor me by reading what I write.

And I wanted to take a moment in the middle of a busy week to thank you for the honor. Whether you're someone who has been reading since way back in 2000 when this site started, or someone whose presence here is from today's Holidailies link, I am grateful to you for the honor of your presence.

To those of you new here, you're in good company. I have some of the finest group of dedicated readers to be found in cyberspace. Many of them have made their presence known by writing to me, to share their thoughts on something I've written. And for the record, I'm one of those people who tries very hard to answer e-mail.

A comment about the comments form: it's fine to use it every time you write to me, but please always include your e-mail address (even though I might already have it). If you don't, I get a warning that you haven't provided an address, and then I have to go fishing to find one to use for a reply.

And once you've written using the comment form, and received a reply which gives you my e-mail address, you're welcome to use regular e-mail, if you like.

Again, thank you all for the honor.
