Today, the lady in front of me really needed to talk. A sympathetic remark let her do so.

She could talk about her loss, about how she had no regrets, about how hard the last few years have been, about how good her children are, and about peace.

My part of the interaction was to listen, nod, agree, and be present.

She was in a better place when she left. So was I. Some of the peace that was mentioned? Stayed with me.
