July 30

Thursday was the third day in a row with a late-afternoon rainstorm. I'm tired of this wet stuff, whether or not we need it. It could at least vary its arrival times, which keep coinciding with my desired departure-from-work time. And of course, it is all about me.

When it rains in the afternoons, many people are caught short. Either they don't have umbrellas handy, or they've managed to collect too much stuff to fit themselves and their possessions under the umbrella they did manage to remember to bring, or they're in great need of a third hand to hold the umbrella while their other two deal with the aforementioned stuff and unlocking a car, etc.

I'm usually one with an umbrella and in need of a third hand, in case you're curious.

After I got home, I spent several hours working on a project and watching the last of the Democratic National Convention. Turned out those two things ended about the same time.

Hmm. Now that the convention is over, maybe the scheduling people could help out with rainstorm planning. After all, if they can orchestrate the appearance of balloons and confetti and candidates and delegates, they can easily make sure the proper clouds are in the proper spots in the sky at the proper time.
