November 3

I just don't know what to say to someone trying to protect me from porn. I mean, I like the stuff, and unless I'm being offered protection from paper cuts or eyestrain, it just isn't necessary.

Oh, did you think I knew so much about porn by accident? Dear heavens no. It was an accident that I started getting hits from people wanting information on starting porn sites, but I have, all my adult life, had a real appreciation for finely crafted porn. I have friends in the porn industry, both in the written and film segments of it. Some of those friends have already been guests in my home, and all of them are welcome.

And guess what! My morals are still intact! I don't beat people, I have never raped a soul, and I have no interest in having sex with a child or an animal. I just enjoy good smut. Which, incidentally, I do not share with children or the religiously impaired. Nor is it the only thing I read.

It's as simple and straightforward as that.

And if you don't want to have anything to do with smut? Fine by me. I won't force it on you, and it's extremely unlikely that you'll find much if any in a journal entry. But if you come visit, be very careful in checking out the bookcases.

Since I hadn't heard much about the protection proclamation (I'm not going to link to the proclamation---you're welcome to go find it yourselves), I had thought it was being roundly ignored. I wasn't planning to comment on the subject. Then I read Peter's entry, and had to throw in an amen. By all means go read it, and follow the links therein.

My own suggestion? Those wanting to protect me from something should put their money into disease prevention or cures. Or they should donate to the ACLU.
