March 2

I've spent a lot of today reading messages to a couple of groups of which I'm a member. And I was reminded of something---a lot of times, newbies to groups are know-it-alls. There's a reason that various group welcome messages advise you to lurk a bit before posting, except perhaps to introduce yourself to the group.

One of the sets of messages I was reading was from the link group first described in that entry. And there's a new know-it-all in the group. You know the type---if someone asks a question, this guy is the first in line to post an answer, starting out with some self-deprecating remark about his lack of knowledge in whatever the area and continuing on to give information either incomplete or flat wrong.

Then he decided the other seventy-some members of the group had nothing better to do than his work for him. He wanted to know if his link had been added to all the link pages, and wanted to find out by having all the members write to him, off-list, to tell him exactly where he'd find his link. I decided if he wanted to find it on my site, he could damned well go looking. The page is clearly labeled, and I do have better things to do with my time. Umm, like write journal entries about it!

Otherwise, I enjoyed the prettiness of the day. It was warm here, if still a bit soggy from the precipitation of last week. I hope the week to come goes well for all of us. We deserve it!

March 1

March here came in not like a lion, but like a large, wet puppy. It was drizzly or misty just about all the afternoon, and actively rained a bit later. Most of my errands could wait, so I spent a lot of the day indoors. I have a cleaning thing going---and I know better than to put off cleaning when one of those hits.

I'm glad February is over. A lot of my friends had a bad time this February, for one reason or another. I had my own case of the Februaries earlier in the winter, so the month wasn't nearly as dreadful for me as it has been some years. But I'm glad we're this much closer to spring.

I know this is really short, but I need to honor that cleaning thing a little more. As a bit of wishful thinking, here's a rerun of a favorite spring picture.

Daddy's Azalea, with a tiny bit of the Dallas house.
