April 3

I had a headache most of the afternoon, and came home to sleep it off after supper. It's finally gone, but I'm sort of scattered this evening.

Listening to news about events in the Middle East is contributing to the scattered feeling. I am afraid this particular conflict is going to get much, much worse before it ever gets better.

One really sweet moment from the day came courtesy of office dog Zoe. It's Spring Break week for the local schools, and a client brought his daughter in when he came to pick up some documents.

The daughter is used to hanging around big dogs, and Zoe loves people, especially the small ones. So while the adults involved were conducting business and watching the pair, Zoe and the little girl were having a wonderful time in the middle of the lobby.

You may recall that I've mentioned that Zoe does not like to have her paws touched. Well, Zoe forgets that when a child is around. The little girl wanted Zoe to shake hands, and Zoe quite happily extended her paw to do just that. I told the girl that Zoe must like her a lot, since she rarely shakes hands.

Zoe got some extra attention from her mom, Wendy, and from Aunt Becky for being so good to the little girl. Most of the people who come by the office are adults. It was nice to get to see Zoe in action with a Zoe-sized person for a change.

Although the commitment time is over for those who participated in "Saving Kymm's Soul," the ring of journallers started by Beth in honor of Kymm's pledge to give up reading journals for Lent, the list is still available.
